Once upon a time there was an ant that went to work early every day. The ant was industrious and it loved its work.
The leader, Leo, was surprised to see how diligent the Ant was without a supervisor and thought that since it was so diligent without a supervisor, it would be more efficient if it had a supervisor.
The Lion therefore hired The Cockroach, who had management training and was known for his thorough reports. The Cockroach's first task was to create a work schedule. He also needed a secretary to keep the work schedule, so he hired the Spider, who was an expert at multitasking, keeping track of files and answering phones.
The Lion was very excited about the reports he received from the Cockroach and asked him to make diagrams of the production and analyse the development. The Lion could use these diagrams to present to his boss. The Cockroach was forced to buy a PC and therefore hired The Fly as IT manager.
The ant who had been a happy and diligent worker now hated his new job, he was forced to attend various courses, describe his work in reports and record all deviations.
The lion thought it was high time to hire a manager for the ant's department. He gave the manager position to the wise one, whose first effort was to buy a nice carpet and an ergonomic work chair for the office.
Naturally, the new boss needed a PC and a secretary in order to create a plan to optimise work and budget.
The unit where the Ant worked was no longer a pleasant workplace, everyone was annoyed and worried about the future. That's why Claw suggested to Lion that a work environment survey should be carried out. It turned out that Ant's department had higher costs and lower productivity.
That's when Leo hired Owl, a highly regarded consultant, to provide an analysis and suggestions for change.
The owl scrutinised the company for three months and delivered a gigantic report pointing out that there were too many employees.
Of course, the Lion chose to dismiss Ant first, as the report showed that he suffered from "lack of motivation and had a negative attitude"
