Modern research and ancient Indian wisdom

Understanding and knowing yourself is becoming more and more crucial in today's management and team collaboration. Especially because working in flat, well-functioning teams is the future.

Combining the Indian medicine wheel and Belbin's 9 team roles gives a nice and interesting picture of who you are and how others see you. It is based on both the modern and philosophical approach. At the same time, it is simple and effective in its design. And it provides a common language in the team.

The medicine wheel contains four major powers symbolised by direction, totemic attribute, animal symbol, and colour.

  • East stands for fire, substance, spirituality and gives luminous clarity. With these powers you can see far and wide, allowing you to make decisions that will give you direction. East is the sign of change. The trait is clarity, symbolised by the Eagle's sharp vision, and the colour is yellow as the sun rises in the east.
  • South is water and stands for innocence and trust, where you can experience closeness to emotions and life, sensing the nature of the heart. South is the sign of growth, where the mouse's proximity to the earth symbolises the ability to be close and present in the green.
  • West stands for mother earth and is the sign of self-examination - here you can look at your life path, work with your crises or transitions, your shadow sides and sun sides - find your identity. The sign is also called "look into the place" symbolised by the bear, as it requires great strength to look into yourself, where it can be quite dark at times.
  • North is air and represents the power of thought. stands for wisdom, knowledge. Professional knowledge you acquire to solve the tasks you face. Wisdom about how you use your knowledge together with other people, wisdom therefore comes down to life wisdom. North is also the sign of power. Symbolised by the wise and wise Bison, but it can also be cold like winter.

Native people say that humans are the only creatures on earth born into imbalance.

You are born into one of these places, from this place you draw your talents and understanding, and throughout your life it will be the place where you most easily experience and interpret life.

To evolve and become a whole person, you need to get to know the other signs and find out what they contain. In fact, you couldn't become a chief without having a deep knowledge of the other signs.

The four directions contain a whole range of characteristics that have both positive and negative expressions in the same way as Belbin team roles.

Reviews West is the "look in for the spot". This is where you analyse, complete tasks and add specialist knowledge. Development is south, it's where you invent and develop ideas that are sustainable. Interaction North. You need communication skills and coordination that require clarity and wisdom, the sign of strategy. And east stands for Propulsion. Here we create and organise new projects that drive us forward "upwords and onwards".
